Johanna Konta advanced to the first WTA final of her career with a straight-sets victory over Dominika Cibulkova at the Stanford Classic.
The British No1 and third seed will face either Venus Williams or Alison Riske in the final after the 6-4 6-2 win.
The 25-year-old dropped just six points on serve as she secured victory in one hour and 14 minutes.
“It’s just a release of emotions,” said Konta, who reached the semi-finals of the Australian Open and Eastbourne this year.
“I needed to do a very good job of just focusing on myself. It was about focusing on breathing and enjoying playing in front of such a great crowd.”
